Reading records must be signed by an adult twice a week (Monday and Thursday). Please ensure that they read a minimum of 5 pages on both occasions.


Individual  Spellings

In addition, your child will be given 10 individual spellings to learn, spellings will be sent home on a Thursday. This homework should be handed in each Wednesday. They will have a weekly spelling  test, which takes place every Wednesday morning.


Please ensure planners are brought to school every day.


In Maths, we are working on algebra as well as fractions, decimals and percentages. We are also continuing to solve word  problems using the 4 operations.


In English, we are becoming journalists and writing our own newspaper reports. We are also writing formal and informal letters, comparing the differences between them. We will also have the opportunity to become pen pals.

Class reader

We are currently reading  'The Secret Garden' by Frances Hodgson Burnett. This is being used as a stimulus for some exciting, creative writing.
