Red Class

In Red Class, there is our class teacher, Mrs Frost and our HLTA, Mrs McManus. There are 25 Year 5 and 6 children in our class.

Congratulations to Katie and Reuben for their pupil of the week certificates. Keep up the hard work!

 

Remember to take care of your new homework books as they get sent home for the first time this week.

Homework is set on a Thursday/Friday and is due back on the following Thursday.

P.E. is on a Monday and a Wednesday so please remember kits for both days.

Reading records are checked every Monday and Thursday.

Yr 6 should ensure they have their homework planners in school everyday.

Spelling homework is set on an individual basis. Every child will have one week to learn their 10 individual spellings. 

Maths

In our number work, we have been learning all about Place Value; The value of each digit up to tens of milliions, rounding up and down numbers and negative numbers. 

 

English

In non-narrative writing, we have been learning how to write effective journalistic reports and we are currently using "The Secret Garden" as a writing stimulus for our report. 

 

Class reader - we are currently reading  "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

Reading

Children need their planners in every Monday and Thursday, having read a minimum of 5 pages in between. Please ensure the planners are signed for a Monday and a Thursday.
