I have been privileged to be a governor at Rothwell Victoria for over 10 years and am the current Chair of Governors.
My role as General Manager of a hotel has equipped me with many skills required to assist the school in a variety of ways.
I was initially elected as a Parent Governor and attended all Governor meetings at the school and numerous Governor courses and Conferences to improve my effectiveness in the role. In 2008 I took up the position of Chair of Governors.
I am an active member of the Governing Body and regularly visit the school. I work closely with other Governors, Staff and the Headteacher to ensure that the strategic direction of the school enables all children to excel. I take an active interest in all aspect of the school life and this is an invaluable and rewarding experience.
My motivations for being a Governor remain the same as ever: to contribute my skills, experience and time to support schools and school leaders in doing the very best job they can for our community, and our children

I entered the teaching profession in 1992 and became Deputy Headteacher at Rothwell Victoria in 2001. I am now proud to be the Headteacher of a school which I feel so passionate about.
As a teacher and a leader, I have always believed that collaboration and cooperation are fundamental principles of how we can all learn and grow together to be the best that we can be. I want to ensure our pupils have the skills and character to enable them to make a smooth transition to the next phase of their education and to recognise that if they aim high and work hard they can succeed and can achieve their dreams.
I have served on the Governing Body at Rothwell Victoria for 16 years and have also been a Parent Governor of a large high school.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, keeping fit and eating out!

I applied to be a volunteer School Governor in November 2017, shortly after I was thrilled to be asked to join the Governing Body.
My career to date has been in Higher Education, firstly in research and then moving to Health and Safety Management and more recently Environmental Compliance. I currently work for the University of Leeds supporting professional, strategic and operational elements of both the Safety Management System and Environmental Management System.
Having recently completed a Master’s degree I felt it was time for me to give something back to the education of others and hope that my skills and background will add value and support the continued development of the School.

My name is Rachel Ferraby and I am a Parent Governor. I am married to Richard and both of our children currently attend Rothwell Victoria: Ethan in Y6 and Imogen in Y3. When time allows, I enjoy reading, art, travelling and visiting historical places. I was lucky enough to have fantastic school experiences throughout my life, and am committed to our education system and promoting opportunities for all children.
I joined the Governing board at Rothwell Victoria in December 2016, having previously served as a Governor at Haigh Road. I am happy to transfer the skills I learnt there to support and challenge Rothwell Victoria in ensuring that all of the children have the best possible education and, therefore, the best chances in life.
I have been appointed as Governor in charge of Safeguarding, which means that I am involved in ensuring that all children are safe and happy in school and that the school has the policies, procedures and understanding in place to make this happen. I am proud to be serve on an excellent governing board with team of dedicated teachers who have played a significant role in ensuring that Rothwell Victoria continues to improve the outcomes for all pupils.
In my professional career, I am a Y5 teacher at Middleton St. Mary’s Primary School, where I have worked for more years than I care to remember! This means that I bring to my governor role an understanding of the education system and all of the trials and tribulations that this ensues! I hope to be able to share my knowledge and skills to support the school with its continued development.

I was delighted to be invited to join this Governing Body in March 2017.
My career in teaching has been an exciting journey through all age groups, primary and secondary, culminating in headship of a large primary school for fourteen years. When I retired the school had been classified as outstanding by Ofsted for three years. I was then asked to support struggling schools as a consultant head teacher for the next three years. I am now retired again and give some time to my local school on a voluntary basis.
I count myself very privileged to have had these experiences and to have worked with amazing teachers, committed support staff and dedicated governors.
Now I am keen to share my knowledge, skills and time to support Rothwell Victoria Junior School in pursuit of excellence for all its pupils.

My name is Rebecca Clark and I am Staff Governor at Rothwell Victoria.
My involvement with the school began in 2006 when my daughter, who is now 16, joined. I spent time helping out and volunteering in school and was impressed with the dedication and commitment of staff to ensure all pupils were provided with the very best opportunities. After gaining my NVQ Teaching Assistant qualification I was lucky enough to secure a position in school and the rest, as they say, is history. I have since gone on to secure HLTA status and currently work in a year 5/6 class every morning. As well as this, I am RE Co-ordinator and Data Manager. I am also a member of the Inclusion Team, supporting the SENCo and providing pastoral support to pupils and their families.
I want the children at our school to achieve the best that they possibly can and leave us well prepared for the next stage in their education with lasting, happy memories.

I have been a teacher for 18 years and been on the Governing Body of two very different schools. In my role as staff governor, I have given updates on teaching and learning in school and made links with governors and the School Council which I also support. I have been a part of the school leadership team in both these schools over the last 8 years. I have taught in every year group in Key Stage 2 and led in PSHE and English from foundation to Year 6.
I am a parent to a 13 year old son who is currently at a local high school.
I am committed to ensuring Rothwell Victoria provides the very best for all children who attend

I started teaching in 2006 in a large primary school in Inner-London after graduating from Brunel University. My career-to-date has allowed me to work in three primary schools in different parts of the country and I have had the opportunity to lead in a range of different subjects. I am currently responsible for Maths and assessment at Rothwell Victoria.
I join the governing body as an associate governor due to my successful appointment as Deputy Headteacher. I look forward to working with the governing body and the rest of the school’s stakeholders to ensure we provide the best education for our children in our care.
