This week in spelling, we are looking at using prefixes to change the meaning of words. We will be focussing on 'auto', 'graph', 'tele' and 'micro'.
The words are:
grapheme, telegraph, autograph, graphics, microbe, microwave, microscope, microscopic, automobile, automatic, autoimmune, automaton
We will have our spelling test of these words on 02.12.2019
Our times table challenge this week is...
8 times tables!
In Maths, we will be learning about mental and written strategies for adding and subtracting upto 5 digit numbers.
In English, we are looking at re-creating an explanation text.
We also have daily sentence focus work linked to the text type we are studying. For an explanation text, we will be looking at causal conjunctions and technical vocabulary.
We are reading "Goodnight Mr Tom"
Ask your child about this story and see what they can remember!
Our new topic is...
WORLD WAR II
We will be learning all about how and why World War 2 started, how people lived during this time and the impact it had.
Any extra research will be rewarded with a learning goals sticker!
The following PE times should be noted:
